Being fluent in many languages is thought to be incredibly attractive.
But people forget that the reason why is because of the:
ASSUMPTION between LANGUAGE SKILLS and the ABILITY TO MONETISE that
skill. i.e. if you are fluent in many languages, you will be rich.
But the trouble here is that:
Language skills is utilised as social capital; and an attempt is made to transfer that social capital into financial capital.
However, this transferrence is so hard and so low now that whereas
people are trying to overinvest in language, they could be making so
much more money if they diversify their time into many other different
activities.
